  12. Kabhi to khul ke baras
Lyric: Prem WarbartoniSometimes you wish there were more naked emotion audible in a Jagjit & Chitra rendering. In this record, Chitra’s “Kabhi to khul ke baras” seems so resigned as if to be out of sync with the theme of the ghazal.
  13. Aye khuda ret ke sehra ko samundar kar de
Lyric: Shahid MeerJagjit Singh seems to walk gingerly through this one, testing gently each turn of the ghazal and slowly infusing conviction into his voice with each repetition. Yet he almost holds on to words by stretching their vowels, perhaps searching got stability in a sound drawn out in time.
  14. Yeh to nahin ke gham nahin
    Lyric: Firaq Gorakhpuri
  15. Tere Khat
    Lyric: Rajindarnath Rahbar
  16. Ham hi mein thi na koi baat
Jagjit &’ Chitra Singh accompanied by Talents ’80
Lyric: Hafeez JullundhariI find the fact that Jagjit & Chitra sing this ghazal together problematic. The chorus is perhaps inappropriate for the mood I would like for this ghazal, that of the reflective lover. Here, it becomes an exposition of their shared realization, in my opinion something less than the thrust of the ghazal.
